Problema con Compiz

Bueno el otro dia instale compiz mediante apt

ejecure compiz --replace y funciono

la primera vez funciono bien pero no dibujaba bien los marcos...

luego de eso mientras usaba Advanced Desktop Effects Settings el pc se quedo pegado y tube que reiniciar... nunca mas funciono

ahora cuando ejecuto compiz --replace la pantalla se torna negra y no puedo hacer nada mas... la musica sigue sonando el mouse sigue moviendose...

no puedo cambiar de terminar.

tengo kubuntu 7.10 y mi pc es un notebook hp 530 tiene el video:

Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

No se donde quedan los logs de compiz y cosas asi como para investigar el problema...

A moi con ubuntu 7.10 se me aparecen unos cuadros de repente, pero lo soluciono reiniciando compiz

porque instalastes compiz si lo unico que tenias que hacer era entrar a aparencias y efectos de escritoro

yo sabia que ubuntu trais los paquetes instalados, no asi kubuntu...

tengo dos logs que hacen referencia al mismo problema...

mmm probastes con los que trae kubuntu porque esos siempre funcionan

versión de driver
xorg.conf la sección de la tarjeta de vídeo podrías postear.

En todo caso no has dicho que tarjeta de video tienes.

la otra vez encontre esto en inet

apt-get install compiz compiz-kde compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-fusion-plugins-extra libcompizconfig-backend-gconf emerald

Ya está todo. Deberemos de ejecutar la siguiente orden con el fin de que los componentes se pongan en funcionamiento:

$ compiz --replace
$ emerald --replace <– si no aparecen los bordes de las ventanas

Si desaparecen los bordes de las ventanas (algo que ocurre a menudo) ejecuta (con alt+F2):

kde-window-decorator

Como me canse esto acabaré instalando emerald, a ver si con eso no tengo este problema.

Para quitar compiz y volver a kwin hay que ejecutar:

kwin --replace

Finalmente para que una ventana vaya al frente al pulsar sobre ella, hay que activar en KDE primero “foco bajo el ratón”, y luego ya en compiz “Alzar al hacer clic”

no se si te sirva pero lo posteo igual por si algunos tienen dudas

no es mas fácil instalar fusion-icon o icon.fusion no recuerdo el nombre y desde ahí cambiar el tipo de wm a usar?

al menos yo así lo hacia con beryl-manager.
